Message Editor
Every field typed, or linked to a regex, a CSV column or a sequence.
Screens
What it does
The message editor lays a message out as Swiftly did: block 1 and 2 headers, then one panel per field. Every field can be typed or linked with its … button to an expression: a regular expression, a parameter such as a CSV column or a date sequence, a built-in value such as the account number, or a mix. The message and its checks update as you type.
How it works
The editor writes only the files you save or generate.
Data links
MF<!RegEx>[A-Za-z0-9]{12} gives MF and twelve random characters; <!RegEx:seq> shares one value between fields; <!Param:Reference> reads a parameter. Suggest turns the field's own format into a regex.
Parameters
A CSV column, a number or date sequence, or a list, each stepping once per message, with what to do at the end of the data: start again, keep the last value or stop.
Generate messages
Write any number of messages from one: every expression is evaluated again and every parameter steps on, and the file name can be an expression too.
Balances worked out
Closing, available and forward balances, MT942 totals and floor limits can follow the opening balance and the lines, or be typed by hand.
Raw fields for negative tests
Switch any field to raw and write it verbatim, including deliberately malformed values, to see how a receiver copes.
Open anything
Open FIN files or Swiftly's XML templates, including their [!RegEx] expressions; save as FIN or XML with the links kept beside the file.
Good to know
- Live FIN preview and checks
- Regex test bed included
- MT to XML and back
- Expressions survive save and reopen
