What it does
Swiftly was written to test a SWIFT gateway from the specification. SwiftStory keeps that spirit in a validator: blocks 1 and 2, every field's format, the order and presence of fields, and the network validated rules of statements are checked against SR 2025, with consistency checks a careful receiver makes on top. The library holds Swiftly's 68 hand-written samples, every one corrected.
How it works
Errors: what the standard forbids
Character set, formats and lengths, calendar dates, ISO 4217 currencies and their decimals, ISO 3166 countries in BICs, field order and presence, and the network rules of MT910, MT940, MT942 and MT950 (C06, C23, C24, C27).
Warnings: what a receiver notices
Balances that do not add up, entry totals that disagree with the lines, lines below the floor limit, an unstructured field 72, unknown transaction codes.

A library that passes
The 68 samples cover short and long BICs, sending-party schemes, multi-line narratives, forward balances and statements split across messages. 131 corrections later, none has an error.
