SwiftStory · Freeware for macOS

SWIFT statements that add up.

SwiftStory writes MT900, MT910, MT940, MT942 and MT950 test messages for the systems that receive them: payment gateways, treasury and reconciliation platforms.

Describe what happens to an account, day by day, and every confirmation and statement follows, with balances that chain from one message to the next, for every environment, user and account you test with. Then check any message against SWIFT Standards SR 2025, field by field.

From an account's story to gateway-ready files.

A test system should see what a bank would send: confirmations during the day, statements that reconcile with them, and the next day starting where the last one ended.

  1. Accounts

Environments, their users and the users' accounts: a BIC, an account number, a currency and the history that drives it.

  2. History

Days of debits and credits, and the statements that report them, with every balance worked out.

  3. Templates

Which fields each message carries, chosen from the SR 2025 structure of its type.

  4. Generate

One file per entry and account: balances, statement lines and references filled in from the history.

  5. Check

Each message is validated as it is written, and anything that breaks the standard is reported.

  • Balances chainEach statement opens where the last one closed.
  • RepeatableThe same entry gives the same references every run.
  • Per accountAccounts sharing a history get their own references.
  • Familiar files<environment>/<user>/ with Swiftly's file names.

A look inside

All features

Swiftly, rebuilt.

  • Built from the specification

Swiftly was written in 2012 to test a bank's SWIFT gateway integration from the SWIFT standard rather than the vendor's documentation, and found where the two disagreed. SwiftStory keeps that approach, against SR 2025.

  • Works offline

No account, no sign-in, no telemetry. The workspace is a file on your Mac and messages are written to the folders you choose. SwiftStory never connects to SWIFT or to anything else.

  • Rebuilt in Rust

The engine is a Rust library with a command line and a native macOS app on top. Swiftly's history and account CSV files and its XML templates still load.
